    yeah, now that the top two are gone, then some will fill their space! what exactly happened why they had to shut down?

    very interesting article jamrock. thanks! they were basically saying that it will survive just as p2p did after napster was shut down. i must note though that when i see people use bittorrent, its basically 5 big traacking servers. if they were to hit those, then it would take a much longer time to recoop.

    Taking down the big tracking servers wont do a thing,it will just make room for larger ones

    It is possible to run a tracker from your own client. at least i think so.

    @ Carey - It is possible.

    @ Megiddo - Most trackers are run on at least a 100Mbit connection, especially those in Europe and Asia.
