    Default DSi Mystery...

The DSi also features speedier hardware than its predecessors--its main processor doubles the speed of the DS Lite's and has four times the RAM, as well

Why is this, this handheld is a minor upgrade, why did it need so much more processing power ?

my guess would be to improve non-gaming features.. doesn't it have a browser and network capabilities and touchscreen recognition (on a bigger screen) etc..

On a .3 MP Camera ? I am sure your old caluclator from High school can do that.
The "Old" DS has Opera as a browser add-on. The DS has Always had network capabiity.

I remember this guy saying he bought 20-30 of them and gave them to his staff, so that they could chat and keep intouch using pictochat while at a conference. Plug and Play Adhoc, long battery life, touchscreen.

The screen is bigger yes, but they screen on the various incarnations of the GB were also bigger while maintaining similiar CPU speeds.

What I mostly concerned about is them allowing devs to use the extra speed, basically splitting the DS market. Esp since the DSi is not a new product , merely an evolution.

I have to buy another, I gave the Skirt my Lite, but I figure if the camera is any good I will swap back with her. You know the weirdest thing, people seem to be mixing up the camera MP level. I have heard both are .3, I have heard the external is 3.0 or 1.3, gonna see if nintendo has official info.

Yeah, this Dsi Seems kinda pointless. It has Crushed the entire videogame market. they should have just did a Backwards compatible Gamecube level Version in 2 years. Seriously though, a dedicated AA unit in those handhelds would make SUCH a difference...

    pointless is a strong opinion..

i read the cnet review, the review found no reason to upgrade to it if you alread own a DS..
however.. (i notice people don't view things from this point of view a lot)
what about someone that hasn't yet upgraded to a DS product.. isn't a slightly improved version (lacking gba support) still not a viable option??

i read 3.0 MP camera.. vga camera would be a no no

a portable gamecube? i don't know if Nintendo can pull it off without creating a device that cost $300
