People sometimes forget that the iPhone is only two years old. You cannot compare it to other phone OSes that are considerably older. So yes, Apple is playing catchup in some respects. But look at it in context. Windows Mobile is about a decade old. Symbian is probably even older. They didn't not become the robust OS they are now overnight. The iPhone OS has come a very long way in two years. And there is no disputing that even while playing catchup, Apple has set the standard to which all mobile phones aspire in just these past two years.

Anyone has OS 3.0 running on their 2G iPhone?
update: I now have OS 3.0 running on a 2G iPhone without problems. The syncing with notes and landscape keyboard in key apps are some of the most welcomed additions
