I see a million player lan game in the making, sweeeet. Running on clusters.
assuming storage capacities trend upward in a similar fashion (i.e terrabyte usb drives etc) i doubt there would be the need to compress data. Instant messaging would merge with video calls, you would have streaming ultra HHD (the first H is for holographic :-)) video with 17.1 dolby surround sound (and probably smell). It'd be kinda like star trek.

Instead of online radio stations you'd stream cable tv online while using VOIP on a video conference call with 20 of your old friends from college all in different parts of the world.
If things really good you can watch tv on your pda or smart phone too....
