Learnt that when then info minister phillip paulwell issued crazy telecoms licenses it wasn't a total waste. Increased competition in the local market from the 4 main ISPs with definately put jamaica on the map as a next gen business hub, facilitating crazy growth in IT and telecoms. Claro's newly announced US$300 million investment in LTE in jamaica will be a welcome boost for GDP, the end product of these telecom wars? Other than insane downloads and uploads, more job prospects from investment spill over, greater and more advanced internet penetration and global recognition as the first country in the caribbean to give rise to this next gen internet competition on this scale. More business prospects too!
