This is not a phone, this is a camera that can make calls!

In other words, not a camera phone
    but a Phone camera

But even if it's 20MP it dont matter to me if the optics nuh good. Right now my old 3 MP cybershot take better quality pics than any most phone out there with better pixel rating.

Remember, lense and conversion (optics technology) not just MPixels

Amen at least some of us not running down this mega pixel thing... the best camera I have owned was an old 3.2 mega pix camera took way better pics than the newer high mega pixel cameras I have owned... for most people taking pictures 5mega pixel is more than adequate in my case 3.2 was perfect.

AS for this new SE Phone looks sweet just saw the video on engadget... sweet phone I hope the concentrate on the software side as much as they have on the hardware side.... a truly great user experience requires the seamless integration of both.

Check out the Engadget walkthrough video!

I was really skeptical as this is slated for Q3 this year and alot can change before then as we saw with the X1 and N96.
But that video has given me some faith... its not too thick, the UI seems really responsive and cud be worth waiting for, hope it gets out without a hitch.

So if you're saying wait and see why was your remark even necessary?

You know right? With SE's spin on S60, it ought to be the business.

    Thanks for that.

Everyone competing hard most notably Samsung. Good to see SE showing us some goods in the form of this and the 8MP Walkaman.

We should've done a thread to cover the MWC In Barcelona and talk about all the announcements from the manufacturers.

The IDOU now has it's own page:

    http://www.sonyericsson.com/idou/

Plus, what is your take on the choice of screen?

Some people are crying foul for SE's choice to make this a resistive type screen unlike most others that use capacitive.

The difference is the resistive screen has more layers of plastic and as such you can use objects to touch the screen as well. Capacitive from my understanding (as in iphone et al) is purely finger based.

Some also say resistive is more precise...while capacitive offers multitouch.
