The present cooperate WiMAX offered by digicel can be deployed anywhere in Jamaica within a couple of days. The only reason it is not everywhere is simple, the rollout is market driven. A market research is conducted by their sales team for an area and based on the result a base station is deployed. 802.16e WiMAX(4G) is a seperate market from 3G. It targets DSL users in search of mobility, and like any other network it can be expected that the devices cost will be subsidized. Isn't Claro's iphone subsidized???
