    That can't be right. Your download speed can't be lower than upload. Are you doing this under stress-free conditions (minimal internet activity)?

    These are my results for a 1MB connection:
    :::.. testmy.net test results ..:::
    Download Connection is:: 890 Kbps about 0.89 Mbps (tested with 1024 kB)
    Download Speed is:: 109 kB/s
    Upload Connection is:: 204 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 386 kB)
    Upload Speed is:: 25 kB/s
    Tested From:: http://testmy.net (Main)
    Test Time:: 2009/02/12 - 7:11am
    D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-EJPBOXFY0
    U-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-357UOEW4I
    User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5 [!]
    Updated to download/upload combo results.

    Unless I interpreted these results wrong, I think I'm somewhere close to what I'm supposed to get. Remember that the connection is always split, so no single program ever gets all the speed. I'm open to any corrections though...

    Danestar:
    looks like you have a very bad line. Quite reminiscent of mine ... To have yours 'addressed' do what I did
    1. Call Support at least daily
    2. Keep a notebook of all the times you called and who you spoke to
    3. Ask for the manager on duty. He/she/they will most likely be busy. Ask them to call you back ... but don't hold your breath
    4. Whenever calling refer to the previous calls and who you spoke to.
    5. Go to head office and demand to speak with the relevant VP. Do not leave until you speak with him/her/them. Be prepared to wait.

    #5 was the one that eventually worked for me AND I had to do it twice!! Letters can work but my experience was that they were never replied to. Now, I was prepared that if #5 did not work, I was going to the media with it. NOTE: O.U.R. cannot help you.

    Besides a bad line, what else could be wrong?
    1. Modem: substitute it for a known working one ie switch it wid yuh bredrin. NOTE: some modems can run hot to the point of malfunction - try a fan. If the fan works then change the modem to one that runs cooler or put it in a cooler place.
    2. Filter: << as above >>
    3. Bad Master Jack: call telco and suggest that they change it
    4. Bad cable drop: << as above >>. Remember, wiring beyond the master jack (ie 'round your house) is yours to maintain.

    and here i was thinking that it was just my side having that problem. me and a few friends have the issue for a few days now. did a speed test this morning when there supposed to be no traffic at all and i dont even get 1000k so most likely is a problem with the exchange cause all the things that ginegog said we already tried and its the samething
