Take Down is the story of Kevin Mitnick. It's pretty detailed in the techniques that crackers and hackers use. Some of the exploits even look "usable".

very interesting, but i couldn't get the link to the book to work
Yeah, the downloadable version of the book does not seem to be available anymore.
I have the book "Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security" written by Kevin Mitnick if anyone wants to take a read. 500 pages.
See reviews about it at Amazon.

you have it in pdf? or regular paper form. and is it shareware, don't wanna have the mods coming down on us
oh don't worry found the book in pdf
Tell you the truth, don't remember where I got it from. But it wasn't some illegal site. I think it was publicly available just like the Takedown book is.
It's in Microsoft Word format. 1.2mb.
It's a very interesting read. To hear how Kevin used social engineering to get people to give him secure information. It's funny. But I think some of these people are just stupid to talk out all that info to a stranger on the phone. lol
Carey, will send you a pm to download.

Ok, so I'm glad you found them. Hope you enjoy them. Then after you read them, let us know how you liked them. And you could give us a synopsis of the books. Because no one else has them.Originally Posted by megiddo
