    Default Connection Problems

I have a Inspiron 1525 running Vista Home Basic and i'm unable to connect to an existing network that i was always able to connect to in the pass. I have other machine on the network that can connect. Vista network connection wizard says its unable to diagnose the problem.

The network Log says reason is 0x00028001 (wateva that is)

Any help would be jus great
    tnx

hmm...more info needed..start with the simple stuff
is dhcp enabled on the network? if yes, are you getting an ip address?
can you ping another pc on the network or even the ip of your gateway?

DHCP enabled, can't get an IP address. in fact the machine uses that access point everyday and nothing has been changed on either on them.

Check the hardware, manually configure the machine, IPAddress, subnet, gateway, etc... see if it works. Now if it does then it simply stands that for some reason the DHCP server is not assigning u an IP.

Delete the Wireless profile and recreate it.

With a 1 - 3 combination of unplugging, resetting and recreating profiles i finally got it up and running again. But what cause the problem in the 1st place is the million dollar question.

I think it's more on the Windows side of things. Just this morning on my Aunt's Vista Laptop, the wireless profile somehow just stopped connecting. Had to delete the profile and re-create it.
