Default Big Up Flow For Improved Data Services.

OK guys, remember how I always complain that I never liked Flow's TCP/IP implementation? Well I got a pm from a flow employee saying that they have made some changes with their data services and asked if I noticed any differences in internet usage?

Well, I'm happy to report that I have noticed significant improvements with their data services. No longer does my latency goes through the roof when downloading via torrents which was always the case and the biggest pain in the rear (especially when using over 20 tcp connection per torrent) SEE:

Previously my latency would be 1500ms and browsing would be worst that watching molasses on a cold cold day. Now I can browse easily while downloading and my latency is more than acceptable under the conditions.

Total respect to <u know yourself> he has been trying hard in the past to help me troubleshoot the issue and finally it got sorted out.
I'm probably the happiest Flow customer right now, I'm really looking forward to next year for any announcment of additional residential services.. docsis 3.0 hint hint!

I also noticed that my latency on an idle connection is 50ms to google.com.

Is this is on the 15Meg package? Really jealous of the download speed.

I can't even complain about the previous FLOW service...... Like ArchAngel I'm in the Red Hills area with no FLOW service.

Just to put some things into perspective here are a few post I have managed to dig up which highlighted the previous problem:

Sorry about last image, I took a screen shot which captured both monitors. Anyways It got better this morning, this download stayed at 1.80Mb/s right though until the end, wanted to see what my latency would be like near my max speed, it was 200 ms and browsing was pretty decent.

Weird. Since you posted that Flow made some changes, my C&W internet has improved dramatically. Ever since C&W changed to LIME internet has been slow with pages taking 5 mins to load or load half way and stop. Now it's zippy as ever (as a 1mb can be). I love it.

It may be unrelated, but I had to share the coincidence.
C&W does get internet from Flow, don't?

I'm still trying to get my 15Mbit connection to give me decent torrent speeds But this is good, I have the same latency problem when torrenting. I'll test this when I get home.

I spent days troubleshooting this over the summer. My modem is getting the 15MBit connection speed - reported by speed tests. I'm gonna spend another weekend troubleshooting it soon.
