    Question Linux OS running on Palm Handhelds

    Ok I read an article a good while back about Linux OS running on palm as way back to the M1 and older.Anyone know if the developments is still going on or if they stopped?

    PalmSource is expanding its global reach with the acquisition of China MobileSoft. CMS and its subsidiaries offer an array of software and applications for next-generation mobile phones, including a version of Linux optimized for handhelds based on Palm OS Cobalt.
    CMS and its subsidiaries offer an array of software and applications for next-generation mobile phones, including a version of Linux optimized for handhelds based on Palm OS Cobalt. PalmSource has pledged to deliver a Linux-based version of the popular Palm operating system following completion of the deal.
    PalmSource has agreed to deliver the company's software to the Linux community, including the Palm OS user interface, professional and consumer applications, along with more than 360,000 registered developers.

    In an open letter to the Linux community, Mike Kelley, vice president of engineering at PalmSource, explained that the company is not open-sourcing Palm OS, instead implementing it as a software layer that runs on top of Linux.
