Default Google Map Marker, Group. lets start mapping

OK guys if you are like me that has a pocket pc or the guys with an iphone, you tend to look at Google maps but there are no names on the roads, sad to say Google will NEVER label Jamaican roads we have to do it ourselves, that is why they have given us a tool called Google map marker http://www.google.com/mapmaker the more people that work on it the faster we can do it let us start mapping and moderating. Mods i would love if you could shoot an email out to all members, so those who don't see this will know or even make this a sticky, thanks.

I plan Marlon Daley so everyone know who i am to approach the new cell company since having mapping capabilities on their units with gps and 3g will help sell them, they wold like to assist us with promoting this tool and get more Jamaicans involved. so guys let us start mapping together.

As a former college man it really sad that i did not label KC first LOL, Yes i just moderated your additions, visiting the states i truly understand how valuable google maps is i have a htc touch and a gps receiver and i go everywhere the impact this can have for jamaica is priceless commerce travel, trust me and people if you don't know the name of the roads get a shell map.

I have posted this in two areas did not really know which would be better, but mods please think about making this a sticky in one thanks.

I know it mad but i would leave the business to edit their own areas let us focus on the roads government agencies stuff like that, but most important let us get the word out. if we had 500 jamaicans working on this together we could done the country in a few weeks.

remember when someone adds something it has to be moderated so click on my Mapmarker and zoom out and click moderate, or Refresh moderation list.

A who a try label all a mobay in one day LOL

People try to label the roads more and not places, all labeled roads will eventually show up on the official map but not all labeled places as the map cannot be too jumbled, when drawing new roads go to satellite view you will be much more accurate. Happy labeling.

that is why i think we should focus on the roads first once that is done we will find it easier to locate the land marks but i would recommend starting from your house. Label the streets around your house. Make sure you looking at hybrid view and some roads you have to draw in by hand.

I made the mistake of labeling without the use of the Hybrid map. Had to delete and reinput some of the markers and roads.
