Yeah, some of the best are right here but maybe they prefer to start something on their own. I must tell you that the Computer Technicians only work to put money in their boss pockets....they are always short paid. Trust me, is better juggling freelance.
A loan scheme that can benefit Jamaican IT folks is what this country needs right now..........wheres the hell is Mr. Mullings...mi think him too old fi manage Technology portfolio yu nuh.
hmm...interesting train of thought...but what alot of people dont realise is that...as duster saidI had to move to another country to get into IT (well so it seemed to me). Alot of techs holding out for the "million dollar" job as there first IT job, thats not how you should look at it. Freelance is all well and good but not a garenteed pay cheque.you all acting it makes me think that there are millions of IT job in jamaica to pick choose and refuse!
I always tell any techie starting out, if you see an IT job opening and you feel you can get experience from it tek it...once it not costing you more to work therre than what you taking in tek it! Your IT pride not going to mek you money

It wasn't me!...........okay it was but you have no right to assume!!
Agrre with you when it comes to a starter....you've got to ban your belly sometimes....but being a qualified IT personnel with experience...NO WAY...dont sit around and take chumps as it dosn't kill to start a thing on your own. As long as you do your job professionally you are bound to get reccommended.
well being a "Qualified" IT person is what you would have to decypher now. If you where working in a say Freezone company (although they tek care of there IT) as a Sys Admin, dont expect you to go back to a regular PC tech.
But Im looking at this from a potential employer point of view... I would look at someone who has worked as a computer tech for a reputable/established company say 5 years vs someone who freelance for 5 years, who would you lean towards?
I agree with you yes you cant always settle with what you get but its what you can find that will get you the experience. In any case the original poster did not mention the salary range so we are making some bad assumtions that this job post is under paying.

having carefully read all the threads, I think something is wrong.....A company has gone out of its way to make a posting here to help folks earn a living, and look at the comments and thank u's. I am a realist and from the looks of things nobody here really needs a job...so what is this cry in the wider society aabout joblessness about?...is it that most persons really are just loquacious...or is there something else I am missing....I am really trying to understand the meaning of all this....
DO NOT MERELY HEAR THE WORDS AND IGNORE THEM...TAKE HEED....
