    the point is the ram is split in 2 for the ps3.... did you use your ram on your 3870 as system ram?

    It'sa me, Nester-san with anotha delivery for the Fail Express....

    The Xbox 360 demo of Ubisoft’s take on the Ace Combat-style arcade flight sim genre has been available for some time, but due to ‘technical issues’, (that means the UFO crash and did haffi get tow) the PlayStation 3 code only made it to the Store last week.

    It’s worth pointing out that the PS3 code does come with a disclaimer saying that the demo is not representative of the final code, but we find it hard to believe that core elements of the engine such as the anti-aliasing method and lighting model will change that much in the final game, especially when it’s out in the US today. Suffice to say, we’ll be looking at that too though in the fullness of time.

    As it is, demos are released to give you a taste of what you’ll be buying when the game comes to the shops, so with that in mind, here’s our take on the HAWX sampler on both PS3 and 360.




    The game runs at native 720p on both consoles, with the 360 code running full-on 4x MSAA, while PS3 is using nothing but horizontal blur FAIL. This noticeably deteriorates visual clarity and doesn’t really smooth edges much at all. (Fail does that)


    There’s also a lighting difference as you can see from the shots, the excellent use of light bloom from the 360 code is nowhere to be seen on the PS(FAIL)3 version.

    Nestersan why not post the 3rd set of pics? The one where they say the ps3 has superior draw distance and is rendering more geometry?

    In the PS3’s favour there is a superior draw distance. These shots clearly show that the PS3 is resolving more background geometry than the 360 game. However, 360 gradually fades in upcoming scenery, while PS3 has straightforward pop-in instead.


    Sad tho... even tho it was the lead console the 360 went down in fps from 55secs into the vid while the ps3 stayed at 60. All in all i say the game will be equally enjoyable on both consoles. They might be making the ps3 version even better by the way

    4xmsaa greater than blur.... LOL... 4xaa will ofcourse drop fps you NOOB

    Rendering BACKGROUND geometry than the 360 game.
    However, 360 gradually fades in upcoming scenery, while PS3 has straightforward pop-in instead.

    The 360 is doing 4XMSAA with better lighting, and the only diff is that if FADES in building that just appear on the PS3 ?

    You 360 ppl really not interested in being fair in ur considerations huh? This is why this thread is so much bigger than the 360 thread.

    The game is not made for the ps3 so what u expect? Developers need to realize that they too are responsible for gettin consoles sold. The more quality games they put out the greater the total install base will be, and the greater their potential profits.

    The pop- in might be one of the things fixed. But problems with the code = ur explanation. For a multiplat game i thought it looked really good tho. Nice smoke and clouds etc
