Where have you been "hello moto". The mobile department(for lack of a better word) was recently divested due to low phone sales and poor design. Its just recently less than about 6 month that they start picking up with new compelling designs. Nokia all the way. Then of course Sony ericsson.

Sony Ericsson has fallen of as well. People are more interested in PDA's know; blackberries, iphones, Nokias, sidekicks, HTC.. etc in terms of high end phones.
For the poor man pocket, i would definately say nokia. I gonna try and find an article on phone sells for the last year or sometin..
Also, i beleive Nokia are innovators in the mobile phone business.

Nokia seems to be the only manufacturer that is consitent with new designs, features and durability (i still have a functioning 3310). Sony Ericson I would say comes a distant second but this article gives you the ranks.

Newbies...search the forums...not yet another of this topic!
New designs? Nokia? Please check that again and see how many times Nokia like everyone else has recycled designs with small changes. Come on. Nokia is #1 in sales no doubt.
Reliability will go to my Sony Ericssons (especially in light of my recent N82 debacle) and functionality is a trade off...in the non smartphones...Sony Ericssons are more functional to me...Nokia's S40 played catch up to SE there in my opinion...smartphone wise...Nokia wins with their S60.
