    Default Windows is starting up...

I have a machine that keeps jumping the log in screen and goes to "Windows is starting up " and that's it !! It freezes, it happened a couple times now and i had to either re-start which didn't always work so i re-seated the memory.
Now, i'm thinking about re-loading the OS, is this the only solution?

You can just do a recovery..

Hmmm? Recovery is a good option but personally I don't like it as I find that alot of junk and duplicate files are often left back in the registry that simply slows down the computer in the process. I would suggest a backup then COMPLETE REFORMAT. What's your take?

Before you do a system restore, press F8 when booting to access recovery console and select Last known good configuration.

last know good config wouldnt do anything cause windows did come up it just wont go past the log in process. try going into safe mode, if you can get in then run system restore and see what happens, if that doesnt work go back into safe mode and schedule chkdsk to run at next log in, if that doesnt work run sfc/scannow from the command prompt and if that dont work.......

was the PC working ok before and do u hear the post beep when u turn it on? If yes,u should be able go into root admin wen booting PC and try work from there. It sounds more like a software than hardware issue.
