I had major problems with both flash and java in Ubuntu 64bit. I'm now using the Ubuntu 32 bit version, as recommended by some Ubuntu experts. More support for applications. I expect things to be different within a years or two. ......

why dont u back up the config files so you dont have to re-customise. I think if you use the same home folder, i.e. jus copy and paste it shud keep all your user configs

For flash in Firefox with 64bit (tested with 10.10 beta also) simply download the libflashplayer.so from adobe (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html) file and place it in "/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins" then restart Firefox.

To get access and paste simply press ALT+F2 and then type in "sudo nautilus" without the quotes and navigate to the location or copy/paste it after pressing CTRL+L in the nautilus window.

Works for me - let me know if it works for anyone else.

Switched to 10.10 to resolve issue with my Encore wireless N USB.

Why don't you guys just download the latest 64 bit Flash that Adobe release over a week ago. They've resumed 64 bit flash for Linux, Windows, and Mac. There is also A PPA available as well.

I've been using it since the PPA came out and so far no issues whatsoever.

Flash Player 10.2.161.22 Beta (64 bit)

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sevenmachines/flash
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install flashplugin64-installer

Oh, before you download, I forgot to mention that it is still a Beta version. It's working ok for me, but as you know the case with Linux, not everyone will have the same experience.

I think I'll stick to 32 bit for the time being...
