NEW Sony Ericsson Walkman + Remi Leaks

3 Walkman inspired phones plus what appears to be a T610 remake have leaked with sketchy images and details.

W902:

Sony Ericsson W902 (codenamed Patti) is a high-end Walkman phone with a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a LED flash and some hardware music keys on its right side. The Sony Ericsson W902 will have 2.2" QVGA TFT display and 160MB built-in memory. Surprisingly, W902 will also feature a 8GB M2 memory card in the standard retail package. From what we see on these images, it seems that the handset is pretty chubby, but we'll have to wait to see it ourselves before ruling a final verdict.

W595:

Sony Ericsson W595 (codenamed Linda) is again a Walkman phone, which comes in the slider form factor and is successor to the Sony Ericsson W580. The Sony Ericsson W595 is known to feature a 3.2 megapixel camera, Walkman Player 3.0, FM radio, M2 card slot (2GB probably included in the package) and a built-in accelerometer. Google Maps will also be preinstalled on the W595 but we doubt the phone will sport a GPS receiver.

W302:

Sony Ericsson W302 is yet another Walkman phone, but this time a bar-shaped one, which seems positioned in the mid-range Sony Ericsson portfolio. The W302 reminds a lot of Sony Ericsson W880 in terms of design. However it will probably be positioned a bit lower, as its sports a 176 x 220 pixel TFT display. The 2 megapixel snapper on board the Sony Ericsson W302 doesn't have auto focus or a LED flash.

Remi:

Another Sony Ericsson phone has leaked once again. Codenamed Remi, the newbie shares a great deal of the Walkman-branded Sony Ericsson looks and insides. Looks like the Walkman and the T-series will compete for the affiliation of Remi. Hunch or else, the Unofficial SE Blog call the Remi the "new T610". As of now we are simply not sure what the market name of the Remi will be.

That said, the Remi clearly takes after the Sony Ericsson W890, starting with the keypad and the main controls above it and going all the way to the peculiar rear panel locks on the sides of the handset. Other obvious legacies are the three-soft-key layout and hardware call and end keys. The slim bar also seems to be keeping the Sony Ericsson W890 measures too.

Though not exactly verbose on specs, HSDPA and a 3.2 MP fixed focus camera are reported.

I would not have expected anything different from the likes of you. The same set who feel the N-series is ever evolving when judging by N95, N82 and N78 and dare I say N96 there are so few differences.

I wish you all would be more objective. But that's that.

That is what they are doing...though a 5MP phone is hardly for the little people. I doubt the company would find immediate success had they just gone for the higher end market without gripping the lower end market first. The higher you go in the specs...I believe the smaller the market gets. More profitability from the lower to midrange handsets of course. But fret not SE still has plans for the upper end of the market too.

But for now I think these are decent offerings and easily trounces upon offerings in the same segment from other brands...while they are not for me...well maybe except the Walkman flagship if I ever wanted one...they are for other people.

Funny thing too...people say same ol' "crap" often times referencing design...but as subjective as it is...we know SE's designs in this candybars and sliders is first rate anyway.

This one takes the cake. Sony Ericsson (before the iPhone) had the best UI ever. Motorola, Samsung or Nokia did not compare. I can't believe you'd think Nokia's plain Jane poorly customizable UI compared to Sony Ericsson. I guess you never saw Sony Ericssons in true form. You need to Youtube that.

The interface works and lots of different tweaks make it better. Has the same look and feel in general but it's not the same. Most of the UI is now flash based and you need to check out the themes etc.
