    Default lan port not responding

    i have a toshiba satellite m55 series, the problem is the lan port is not responding, its recognized in the device manager n all my diagnostic test shows that its working, when i plug in any thing no lites nothing happens, it appears in the task bar as network cable unplug with the red x, i downloaded all the latest drivers but still the same prob.

    any suggestions what cud be the cause, and how to fix it?

    thanks 4 the link, but it still doesnt mention anything about lan problems

    un-instal the driver and then instal it again, if that doest work you simply migh have a defective port, now you can get around that by buying a external usb lan port or a wirless router.

    Did you try different cables and make sure you are using the correct crossover or strait cable?

    did that already prob bout 3 times, same thing happens, i have a wireless router but need a working lan port to configure it so u know how that goes,

    is not the cables, am using the cable supplied with the adsl package, used the one that came with the router, is not the modem, cuz it lites up when my ps2 n router is connected.

    is there anyway the lan port can be removed n replaced?
    i have a pc lan card but need a dongle, heard its hard to find

    Are you giving them away free ...The man want some free advice ....as mentioned before uninstall then reinstall the drivers ..I have had this problem in the past what I did was disable it then renable it to get it to work
