Let me know how that FIIO works. I am think about getting one but probably the higher end Model. Not sure if I need it as I have a pair of Audio Technicas and they sound great.

Its fine. Battery lasts about a day of use. No distortion. Higher end would likely be a waste unless you need more than the e6 can provide. Read its even better than the $88 e7 in sound quality. There does seem to be interference from PC components, but moving it around will get rid of the barely audible whine.

The expensive ones are most likely for really high end, high impedance headphones.

Wanted something like this on and off.

Yup it is, does everything a server can do but in a smaller package + uses less than 35Watts under load... so yup better than running an old rig as a server. Will have an overview/review thread when it arrives.

yup, Here is a list of the packages it supports will give you a better idea of how much these devices can do http://www.synology.com/dsm/dsm_app.php?lang=us and http://www.synology.com/support/3rd_party.php?lang=enu

Supports: Drupal, wordpress, PHPmyadmin, perl, python, DHCP/Directory/DNS/Radius/Syslog/VPN server and many other stuff... you can turn into your own iTunes server as well.

It uses Synology's operating system called DSM which is basically a skinned Linux installation to keep it simple.

I will have a thread in soon that covers the features of the system when it arrives... need to order the HDDs, but holding off for them to go on sale need some 2TB or 3TB WD Reds.

Yup, that one will also do it as well. Synology has a great track record of updating the NAS devices as far as the device can handle, so you do get the latest version of DSM (4.2). That one was from the last generation of their NAS devices.

The one I bought costs $499.00 retail but got a nice discount on it, plus I don't have to pay for it in full but rather monthly.

How I didn't know about this stuff. I was going to make a low power system to be a server.
