Yes mi brethren order them from Amazon for me and it ship from Miami(I think) to JA through a courier called SSMC Xpress Int.

So that i5 you recommending, is it better than the i7 I posted?
Yea. The i7 2600K does edge out the i5 in some test especially since it has hyperthreading.

The i5 however is a new architecture, has lower power draw, plus brings a better iGPU on the CPU which gives increased performance when using Virtu MVP (Hybrid Crossfire with Any GPU AMD or NVidia). It also gives you access to PCIE 3.0 and other features that are tied to the Ivy bridge combination.

If there was a bigger price difference I would have said go with the i5/i7 2500k or 2600k.

If your friend lives near a Microcenter he can get the i5 3570K for 189.99+ tax (~$201.00)

I always thought that getting an i7 is kind of overkill unless you're doing heavy professional work on the PC.

not really, as more and more programs and games take advantage of it. And is a good way to future "proof", especially during a good deal

I have just done a refresh to my rig. I got me one of the Gigabyte A75 FM1 mobo and a quad core 3870k APU. I'm testing it out so I can decide if I should keep it or give it to my son. He is now using the Asrock 785G I had before. Here is the link to my refresh.

Signed up with quickmail today and ordered these from newegg:

    - Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530w
along with a couple ps3 games (that couldn't be found here )

    Edit:
Ugh, newegg just happened to get sold out when they made the order. Now I'm gonna have to get the card from Amazon for $7.3 shipping. At least I'm getting the two games and the psu so I'll have something to keep me busy until the card arrives.

    Edit 2:
Was pleasantly surprised when they emailed me back about newegg being sold out and gave me links to alternatives, then ordered the replacement card from Amazon (sapphire instead of gigabyte) one minute after I gave them the link. Quickmail is looking very legit right now.

Thats a great combo. I built a system for a friend using that processor and a MSI FM1 mobo 8GB ram and a Blu-Ray writer. It plays even the most graphic intensive games on med settings and its super fast. It surprised me greatly
