Congratz.. I just installed one in my laptop too. Thing is a beast! You might want to remove the samsung Magician software from auto-start tho. I noticed my windows kept freezing every day or so while it was active.

Be sure that u guys grab the latest firmware for them, as they have slow data read problem for any data older than a month, i.e. read speeds drop drastically.

    What scrutiny?

My 1TB hdd that I bought 6 years ago is still doing well in my system. People told me it would die.

Wait you haven't heard that Most HD manufacturers Install back door access for snooping of Government agencies? Not sure how true tho.

Regarding the failure rates, they have seemingly improved since initial entry to market. Especially Seagates offerings.

Oh I heard about that. I dont let that stuff bother me. I have nothing to hide. So they can waste their time and resources snooping around.

    I am planning to get 2 3TB or 1 4TB drive soon.

He has a lot of 4k games to play and 1080p or even 4k movies to store .

I certainly would find use for those, but I rather get two 1tb and maybe a 2tb rather than one 4tb hard drive as I am not putting so much files on one drive for it to fail and I lose everything.

If I am going 4tb would definitely have to go raid.
