Default Harddrive space being used up unknowingly

i have a 160 gig hdd on ma laptop

    40g for xp
    40g for vista
    10g for ubuntu
    and therest for everything else

my problem is i have like 2gbs free on the xp partition and everytime i stay on the pc for more than 12hrs all the 2gb gets used up and then it tells me low disk space . i uesd to think its firefox and cache activites but nah
its not ma vitual mem or page file cause thats already using 5gbs

what other factors could contribute to me loosing space like that recently i haad to move some istallations to other partitions and some randome file . just to recover space but something keeps eating it up occasionally

right now its at 550mb and it was at 1.2 last night . .... i installed nutten all i did was watch some vids online

ive used a couple disk cleaners to remove temp files but to no avail

is anyone else having these probs or can help the situation cause im sure im covered under 10gbs of unknown clutter

run the disk clean up utility that comes with Windows XP, there are usually temp files that you would not normally look for that can take up space.

when streaming videos, the buffering process involves downloading some if not all of the movie to ur hard drive so when u watch a certain number of videos run a disk clean up after.
this is something i found out recently (stumbled on is more like it). but yeh, streaming movies takes up a lot of hard drive space

its not a matter of fear of the search button its more like searching for the correct words and yes putting together a thread for utility/ survival apps would be a great idea
