Hola Nokia 3650
Let me see if I can explain this as best as possible.
1. You need to have a cellphone that has GPRS access e.g. A Digicel or C&W access
point running already.
2. Your cellphone must have email capabilities so that you can set up a email account.
3. I use Yahoo mail so the settings are as follows:
Mail box name: Yahoo
Access point: C&W or Digicel
Email Address: your email address@ yahoo.com
Outgoing Server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Incomeing Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Username: email address without @yahoo.com
Password: State that
Mailbox Type: IMAP4
4. Oh, you need to creat all your contacts with an email address for example
18765352301@digitextjm.com or 8765352301@cwmobile.com
5. This will allow you to add your contacts like an email address so that you can send
your messages as a email and not a text message. This will cost you about 0.25 cents
on Digicel because their servers will see it as a email and not text and charge you the
requisite 25 cents a kilobit.
Give me a link if you have any problems.

Thanks
Here is the problem I'm having:
My old BlackBerry, doesn't seem to support IMAP4 (or IMAP for that instance).
I'm now downloading a BlackBerry application that will do this for me.
Thanks for the tutorial Barrettrs.

You're welcome Nokia 3650. Let me know if everything went well with that application you're downloading for your Blackberry. Blessings and Honour.

has anyone tried using yahoo imap? Guess u have to have yahoo plus or summin b/c the settings barrettrs post doesn't work for me

Hmmmm? Inque2181 I don't know why it's not working for you still but I have it setup on a Nokia 7610 Series 60 Symbian cellphone and it works fine. Well I guess the aim is not really to get your emails fully downloaded to the phone but really to grant you a form of gateway access so that you can send your text messages as emails.
Tell me what device are you using? Windows Mobile, Symbian Phone or a Blackberry Device?
Let me know.

hey guys how can i get the net on my blackberry without havin a post paid account is that possible? digicel and CW tells me its not but i just cant see why it cant be done...
JuckyJam, simply type "internet" for your C&W access point, and leave both the username and password blank..
If it still doesn't work, then I can send you my 'service book' (database) with the configuration in there.

Yeah that should work. I think it is best to use C&W for unlimited internet on your Blackberry as there access point is not as rigid and specific as Digicel. Oh you need to put in
Wap IP 1 : 10.20.5.34
Wap Port : 9201
This should be allow you to access the internet without having a postpaid account.
