    Default .rar file on ubuntu

Have you downloaded a .rar file and was unable to extract it? Well here is what you need to do. Ensure that your Multiverse Repo is enabled and from the terminal enter:

    sudo apt-get install unrar
    enter the password

Once installed, in the terminal cd to the folder with the .rar file and enter:

    unrar x filename.rar

The file will be extracted in the same location.
