So with virtual pc, I could use one pc and go through the entire MCSE cert?
The Emulator (whether VMWare Or Virtual PC) is a tool that can be used to assist u in practicing for the MCSA/MCSE certification. It's a tool that emulates or recreates a physical PC into a virtual environment.
So instead of 3 physical PCs...u use 1 machine and create 3 Virtual PCs.
It basically allows u to do anything u wud do with a physical PC...so the possibilities are endless. On a enterprise level, some companies have begun replacing multiple physical services with 1 server (normally referred to as a box) pumped up with the necessary resources.

My question is, which cert would you guys recommend be done first. CCNA or MSCE? Taking into consideration job availabilty.
Its just a matter of time
Dam you folks fast...was typing this up after his last post to me
Well you can download the full Free version of VMWare Server from here You can download trial versions of Windows 2003...or maybe even 2008
When you install VMware and run it, you can go through a wizard to setup a virtual PC, it essentially creates a few files on your physical hard drive, these files are your Virtual PC, when your finished going through the wizard you start up your Virtual PC and set it to boot from a ISO or CD and you do a installation like you would do on a stand alone PC. Formatting in the Virtual environment has no effect on your actual system (scared me the first time i used it years ago).
Start with that and let us know how it goes, can take it from there
ahh not really i work on my own projects, so I set time lines for them so im never usually under any pressure at work
he already has CCNA...MCSE/MCSA would just add to his skill set
This is a shot of my VMware server
to the left you can see a list of all the servers I have,
the first 2 are my Primary and secondary domain controllers, then my licensing server (for terminal services), then my client PC, my Linux Proxy (which is running 24/7), and My download server (top secret stuff on that one ) This is being hosted on a huge server though....a quad 550MHz Xeon, 2GB ECC RAM, and a 14 disk SCSI array

If possible avoid MS virtual PC, in my experience its a resource hog,

Just on the side note...there are no more MCSE / MCSA certifications on the newer solutions/products from Microsoft.
