    The case with the man caught with child porn took place at LAX, however the court ruling makes it clear that any US border agent can search your electronic devices and use what they find against you.

    Read the article clearly. Invasion of privacy, yes. Legal in the US, yes. If you don't comply, they send you right back home, or worse.

    i havent seen this happening not saying its not true but last 3 trips i havent seen such happenings and i neva leave my machine so aguess is only some part of the U.S.A But thats really terrible the land of the free is no longer free.

    I doubt they would be doing this to everyone. Most likely random searches, or they target persons specifically because they fit a profile or they have prior intelligence.

    WTF???....hmm...going to get a few 3.5" laptop HDD with enclosures and start travel with them....no body cloning my lappy

    Yeah i went through in MIA, that is understandable someone actually had a bomb in there shoes and they caught him...so i don't have a problem with that one...except when a man shoes moldy
