    just what they need more delays at them airports lol...when i went through MIA airport they had a bomb sniffing machine that everyone had to go through...thats all fine and dandy but they only had one!! lines where 200-300 people long

    Here's more.

    The implications for companies are serious. Suppose you are traveling on business and you have your company laptop with sensitive company data on it, and US customs wants to search your laptop and copy the data on the hard disk? Serious breach of company confidentiality right there. Trade secrets, financial documents, customer data, all gone to the US govt.

    According to this article they be digging up in phones and messing with call records too. Nothing is safe - USB drives, phones, PDAs, laptops.

    what i cant understand is that this kind of screening while it will catch some criminals wouldn't this add to delays? If i have a 500GB internal HDD that 95% full, plus my external 1TB drive, you telling em them going to search through everything?

    They are not just searching manually through hard disk contents. They are cloning or copying data from drives, or just holding on to the laptops or devices for weeks or even permanently. No delay there. Just copy, or confiscate then send you on your way.

    umm which airports that happening? because i went noth and i havent seen such activities.
