Default todays society and women in technology

hey not my personal feelings i'm just saying how it was okay so don't hate me ladies

i remember at one point, this was like a joke (women in technolgoy ha, it will never work) now they're some of the best in their specialized fields. i'm wondering if there are men who still think that Information technology is a mans job. and what do you think a woman who works in the IT field has to deal with, through out the life span of her job as an IT professional.

I've worked with female techies all my career. My first boss was a female. There's absolutely no reason to believe that females can't make good techies. The ones I've worked with have been pretty darn good at what they do. On campus, there were quite a few women taking Comp.Sci. True...there are a lot more male techies out there than women, but those women usually are good.

I'm sure some women have it tough, but at the places I've worked, your gender didn't matter. All people cared about was whether you could get the job done. And those women who get the job done, moved up the ladder. Where I work now, there are women in Managerial positions in IT as well as supervisory and specialist positions.

Bottom line is that in IT for the most part, it's your performance that counts.

i agree, but i wonder if the world has began to look at it from that point crypto. cause i mean whenever you hear of IT there is a gender lock in the brain already that relates it to men, for example

Take a look at the matrix i know its a dum example but did see when neo met trinity for the fiirst time in matrix part 1, when she said her name was trinity and he recognized the name for someone that did some amazing hack job, what was his response. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE A GUY".

i know its a movie but this concept is real and i feel still alive in the real world. i think it was xeno that was sayin there was a girl at his work place that had really genius ideas but his boss wouldn't listen to her.. but when she relayed an idea to the boss via xeno "he loved the idea".

correct me if i'm wrong x
