Yeah, congrats dramatxxx on being the 1500th member

Interesting fact: it took approx. 22 months for the first 1000 members (45.45 members/month) but only 5 months for the next 500 (100 members/month)

At this rate we may reach 2000 by the end of February 2005.

I have to disagree Chris. The growth is exponential. I would not be surprised if the figure reaches 2000 within three months. My bet is for mid to late December.

OK when Ramesh said it was exponential, I immediately thought of drawing a graph and working it out, but what for? aah, ask me tomorrow when i'm awake and i'll work it out

Ok,, but no need for a graph. We just need the dates for the following milestones: 1, 500, 1000, 1500.

    Ok, here goes

    1: 27/6/2002
    500: 19/9/2003 - 15months
    1000: 9/5/2004 - 7 months
    1500: 23/9/2004 - 5 months

Now, depending on the rate of change of the curve (known only as more data enters the sample) the next figure could be less or more than the last. However, if we look at the decreasing value of time/people and correlate and project (some big words, eh?) we can see that it should be roughly 3 months before the next milestone.
