well kilja a must a sey you know what a gwaan, them make foreign so like paradise but its not, you pay more tax than ja and you limited to how much a year,

    example

provincial law say you are allowed to make $8000 a year

so if you make $10,000 you have to pay the government at least $1500
so you end up with $8500 if you get lucky otherwise $8000

and you aslo pay tax from you pay check to

if get pay weekly say 500 after tax you end up with $440.

me still search for another place hopefully me find a cheaper college

hey kilja you mind sharing you ordeal

well actually Jamaica has one of the highest tax rates in the world, the thing about working in the states is that you have to target jobs that pay a minimum of 40k per year...you can live comfortably with that once you know what you doing....not going to get rich but you can live on it. In the states you live and breath by credit...mess that up and you might as well go back to JA. and up here them have good tax refund system...unlike certain place

Well I issue with a private collage called IBT collage. Last year I was looking for a school to do my MCSE (was getting to lazey to do it on my own) I hit the newspapers first and saw a bunch. called a few, some i didnt like how the people them talk to me, they just wanted me to come in to teh school and never really want to give me any info. so them get write off, then came the schools that cost too much...3000+. then I came across IBT, they guy said he will work out a deal with me since I had my a+ and 2 MCP certs...total cost was 2800 for 5 modules. fine not a bad price.

Mind you i went to the school and looked around...seemed like a decent place...they had small rooms with 4-10 pcs in them. and while I was there they where teaching CCNA class. They said they usually have 4-6 students per class...so I was like cool i will go with them.

First day of class, i came to find out that there would be only 1 other person in the class with me...fine no prob...cute little chick come from JA too then the drama start....this razz clat teacher straight Indian (shrelankan maybe) heavy accent...no sweat ...him start tell us about him self...this man is a bloody sales man for Microsoft or some crap like that, him sell keys. Still said ok no prob...class start...fireup the PC them 1 Blue screen 1 cant start, 1 have windows 2000 pro, 1 have windows 2000 server...Specs...let me put it this way, the best system was a 500Mhz system with 128 ram. had to bring my own win2k3 server and install on the PCs.

but i digress back to this idiot teacher...this man pop out a power point presentation that him look like him get out of a MS press book and start read it word for word...no explanation no elaboration...so me and the chick getting pissed cause we know him not teaching right. right throughout the class he keeps saying "this is on the test, this is on the test"...what push me and her over the edge was when he was on DNS...no tell me something if you reading off a list and you go down through 5 on the page and then the last one says "Other DNS records" would you just skip to the next slide? this jackasz paused for about 1 mins and says "this is on the test" then moves to the next slide. The next thing was that he was actually asking me to get the testkings for him?!

Well went straight to the admin of the school next day and two twos we get a new teacher.

This new techer now, is a CCNA guy, which is fine, the module I was doing needed the networking knowledge. and he had it, learn the cisco way of calculating IP addresses. but when time come to do practical...**** PC them tek 4hrs to install AD???!?!. so about 90% through the module this teacher come to us saying he can only tech this module for 20more hours, mind you my contract does not have a end date on it for the course...so I said fine we can come back and finish up....we had RRAS left. But you know the saying too good to be true? we moved on to the other module, this man flop out...the man knows NOTHING about Windows 2003!!...start read straight from book and all the while saying that we should start the CCNA...

This is the short and sweet version of what I went through I stopped going to that school for almost 8-9 months now...they called me a few days ago saying that they have another class starting up soon (i haven't finished paying them)

honestly, 10 months to do that amount of course work don't seem reasonable...then again is it full time? 8hrs a day?
