Default Microsoft Finally Able to Prevent Piracy through SP1

Microsoft have claimed to find a way to prevent the hacking of windows vista through sp1. How long do you think this new breakthrough in anti hacking method will last? Knowing hackers i would say not long

Sound like bad news for millions of people worldwide who use a pirated copy of Vista.

What would happen when service pack 1 detect that it is a pirate copy, I mean for the system on a whole?

Well i have sp1 on my PC and lets just say... Microsoft got no money from me.

If the system is detected as pirated i think is just some naggin messages that the user will get tho.

what you expect is going to happen when the nagging stops. So too will your pc. Soon after this future Pcs will be hack proof, piracy proof, what else........oh yes they are even planning on completely locking of users from all OS files. Only the users files will be available to them, no getting around anything

    Red face

techwizz make the post Today at 03:25 PM and then.............
[UPDATE 02/10/08 4:00pm - I’m getting scattered reports claiming that there is still a hack for Windows Vista SP1 that works. I’ll investigate further later.]

[UPDATE 02/10/08 5:05pm - It does seem that Microsoft hasn’t been successful in closing off all the hacks that allow non-genuine copies of Vista SP1 to pass off as genuine ones. After a few minutes of searching the darker corners of the Internet and a few seconds in the Command Prompt I was able to fool Windows into thinking that it was genuine:
really if ms cant even deliver a bug free and reliable o/s who REALLY think they woulda come up with way to fight piracy.
