Question Would you apply to a job ad if the employer does not identify themselves?

From time to time I see ads for jobs in which the employer does not identify themself in the ad. Some give you a P.O. box to drop your resume off at. Some just leave an email address. Way back in the day, I think I responded to one such PO box ad. Not doing it again. What about you people? Would you send in your resume etc. in response to an ad posted by an anonymous employer?

I just glance over them and move on. Would rather sit at my yard than to apply to Anonymous Ltd.

it depends on if the job is attractive enough. if it sounds like the perfect job i would, but if it doesn't impress me, move on. it doesn't hurt to apply, but if i get called for the interview and i don't know the company, i have to find out what other employees think about the company.

i see some places just put a fax number, P.O box and no name or just an email address. If i see a fax number i simply type it in google & put 876 before the number and it links back to jamaica yellow pages and it shows the name of the organization. But am not applying to those places or sending no resume unless i know where it is going.

Would you send out your name, telephone number, email address, home address, employment history, educational history, hobbies and interests etc. to some arbitrary PO box if a job ad wasn't involved? How do you know that job ad thing is legit? Last year Monster.com was compromised and many job seekers had their personal information stolen then used in phishing scams and identity theft scams. What assurance do you have that unscrupulous persons aren't harvesting your personal information via these anonymous job ads with an intent to use them for fraud?

Well, personally, I am pretty sceptic to send my personal information like that out there, to God knows who. Trust me, it is scary sometimes, thinking that you don't know who is receiving all your personal information, and if the company isn't legit or real, what would happen to your information thereafter?
