Gotta side with Andy_Shawn on this one. For small to medium enterprise, Asterisk is definitely something to look into. Asterisk is powerful and feature rich not to mention proven scalable. I know of more than one calling card company that uses it as their engine and even moreso, various commercial entities that leverage it's basic PBX features as well as Application integration to offer services. For large corporate entities that are somewhat gunshy about free or open source solutions, Avaya and Cisco are good bets. I have a bias for Cisco in that area because the talent is easier to find and the interface is more readily understood for the cisco buffs. In addition to that they have a proven track record of performance and support. At the bottom of the barrel for me is Nortel. Even though they're an established brand on their own, usability and migration path issues have lowered their standing for me.
