Is that 278.64 Canadian Dollars??!!?? AS in 273.70 United States Dollars??!!??
For a motherboard.... YUTE......NO!!!!!!!!! u just got RAPED! Pretty much an early adopters price... i.e inflated unnecessarily. Damn. u really needed those specs? cause i don't see ntn special cept 3 unnecessary pci-x slots. Thats gonna cut into ur gpu and Cpu bugdet... thats why u stuck with a 8600gt when u coulda gone hd3850 or 8800gt 256. tsk tsk.
bottomline... mobo not supposed to cost so much.
eg. my mobo has same specs as u... cept
2 extra sataII
1 extra lan... tho i have a ethernet card so i actually have 2 now
1 extra pci-e slot
IEEE 1394
but i payed 213 US dollars LESS!!!
tell me u joking
On the memory thing its a toss-up unless u can find out if the cheaper one does 4-4-4-12 timings. the more expensive 4-4-4-12 one is better from the timings but i'm not sure what kinda real world performance difference there would be and if its worth the price. Read some reviews of timings and impact

lol thats not an early adopters price. nVidia boards are just expensive. Especially those extreme boards. lol u could buy an evga 680i and go the 780i upgrade. apparently all the other mobo makers are pissed at EVGA because that just kill them. $80 upgrade price. I'm not an Intel expert but I suppose with the right P35 board you could get similar performance to this board. Probably one of the Gigabyte DS3s.
LOl kilaj1. U don't see the big Guru3d watermark in the picture?
Anyway, I see u finally started your own thread T-Zero. That's good. Now so far that board looking good. Coming from wanting a HP blackbird though, I see it as a huge waste to get a 8600GT to put in the system. Get a nice solid 8800 Series. The GT is still hard to come by, but the new G92 GTS are a little better for a little more money. I'd get two if you can afford it. (You should be able to if you wanted a Blackbird).
AS for RAM, go with nothing less than 4GB. I say stick with 2gb x 2. 1gb x 4 is old school now. Should be able to get a nice pair for under 100 bucks now. Gskill works fine for me, but i don't mind Corsair or Kingston. I usually go for price and reviews for ram selection. 4-4-4-12 timings should sum up your ram choice.
Processor-wise I think that looks like an Intel board. Didn't really check. WHat you planning to go with Quad or Dual core?
[AMD Gallardo] [Asus M2N SLI Deluxe] [AMD 5000+ X2 black edition @ 3.2GHZ] [Zalman CNPS9700 LED][ EVGA 8800GT 512MB] [Gskill 2GB x 2 DDR2800] [Seagate 320GB IDE][Seagate 1TB, 750GB, 320GB SATA II][Western Digital 1TB SATA II][XION 600W] [NEC DL DVD-RW] [Antec Nine Hundred MidATX] [19" BenQ FP93GX LCD][40" Samsung LNA500LCD HDTV 1080p][Logitech X-230 2.1]
that would be better. p35 or even x38. Would say amd chipset too but for all i know intel sabotage dat configuration

u don't need more than 2 pci-e slots. not with dem dual core GPUs coming about now. Why nvidia stay so
