Graphic Designer

Project Manager for a local woman co-operative group seeking a graphic designer to design company/group logo, product labels and possible website. We are an agri-business involved with herbs and spices looking for a logo that is not too corporate or animated... most definitely not a picture. Should be a free hand drawing or an artistic impression and representative of Jamaica (it's culture) with a touch of the rastafarian culture, symbolism and colors. The logo must be a symbol with the company name and at the same time the symbol must be able to stand on its own and be representative of the company.

Contact information or anything? Also, i dont do not understand this: Not a picture and not an animation? I'll be able to create a picture or avi (movie format) of a 3D representation of what your talking about but i'd need more information.

Based on my understanding of the requirements the logo should be a vector illustration... not a picture, an animation or a video.

isn't vector graphics the same as any of those? using the cartesian cordinate system to create the graphics? wat format is the output in?

Adobe Illustrator uses .ai
Corel Draw uses .cdr

There are other softwares that can be used to accomplish this but the above two are the most commonly used ones.

I think when he says not a picture he just means photo. Eg something you find off the net or took a pic of yourself, etc. Doesn't have to be vector though although vector is probably the best to do that in, so photoshop could work as well I think.
