no disrespect meant by the following, i seek only to learn.
i have been hearing about A+ for years. how marketable does it make you in terms of real dollars. i have read thru the A+ manual when i was contemplating taking the exam myself and it seems to be a mix of history of computers mixed with hardware knowledge.
basically i want to know what kind of value A+ adds to your bottom line as far as work goes and what kind of money you expect to get back from this experience.
i have no doubt the learning will be very beneficial, but thats not what you pay 23k to get. the learning is internal, the cert is what we pay for and what we trade on. so whats the skinny guys?
Do nothing which is of no use.

well it can get u alot still even more if u have A+ and N+...although A+ is entry level it carries weight microsoft recently added it and others as electives for some of their certifications... The A+ syllabus/objectives have been updated and the 2003 tests have been retired this new one doesnt involves much of the history of computers. I think an A+ certification will open some good doors and some good opportunities. well thats my opinion still.... maybe the answer to your question can be found here A+ certification

yes the US dollar is affecting the price....but u dont really have to do both exams at once...but u need to do both to become certified.

A+ is just to prove that you can open up a computer and dont F**K it up. With the A+ you will earn the maximum of $40,000 doing "roast work". Without "roast work" maybe about $30,000 per month. Who the hell wants that. Get your asses CCNA or MCSE, thats where the money at. A+ in the computer world is like CXC. N+ is like GCE. But if you dont know sh*t about computers, get the "cxc or gce".

Disagree with some of what u say here...salary wize I cant say for sure I've never worked in IT in JA. As for the course it self cant compare it to CXC. nor can you compare GCE to N+. Unless CXC stepped up there game in IT CXC...its nothing compared to A+

Check this thread for a discussion on A+

how can u conclude that A+ ( a technical certification) is like Cxc? An industry standard vendor neutral certification compared to a high school certification. U think it`s chicken feed for A+? Look at the value of A+.Maybe you don`t realise wat u are sayin lol
