i get 9331 3dmark06 in Xp pro and 9114 in vista. Is that SP1 official or is it some RC?

Why is it best to set the fan like that?

Yes its RC,but it works wonders for me so far and it changes ur build from vista 6000 to 6001 which is the only that can take DX10.1 SP1 is over 400 hotfixes go ahead and install it and let mi know.

Will try it. Switching to XP now anyway. So if vista gets screwed by it, no biggy.

My score is 9565 in xp not 9331, just reran it after i realized kaspersky was running a scan in the background.

Thanks for all the props. Semitop are you dualbooting Vista and XP? I plan to do that but want to know your method if you did it.

MAx, I may try orienting the Zalman up. Since heat rises and i have the nice 200mm exhaust fan, I don't want to take it off just yet now though, That ceramique is pretty thick I don't even think I did a good application and I'm low on it. Btw how good is the thermal thingy that comes with Zalman's. I didn't trust it enough to use it. Idle temps with all fans at 800RPM is about 22 Degrees Celsius. So thats pretty decent. I need to do some load testing. WHich is a good software to test and record gpu load and CPU load temps btw.

installed xp first then vista. U can install a prog called easybcd to set the xp install as the default OS (can also change some more settings with it). Might need 2 primary partitions.

How'd u get 22 degrees? u have AC?

Rivatuner can record load temps for GPU and percent load as well. It'll create a log file if u want and u can go thru that pretty nicely. Don't know what does both at the same time.

Thanks, Yea the Saitek is pretty sweet. No more fiddling for keys in the night making mad typos. It also has 2 brightness settings so its decent. The Saitek Eclipse II is pretty good too with purple red and blue, and a knob to adjust brightness but I like this layout though.

Semitop u got 1 or 2 3870 btw?

As for my temps, ambient temps are like 10 celsius right now so that helps.

just 1. the other pci x16 slot is 4x. Tho the crossfire reviews are mostly 4x on the other slot i dunno if i'll ever try it. If i somehow end up with 2 cards then i might. if the PSu doesn't blow.
