Further information is required. e.g. OS, processor model (if known)

How do people update their BIOS? I am also considering to update my old laptop as soon as I get a CMOS battery....so that I can use additional memory (passing it's maximum capacity of 512mb)

That is the solution. When i had my Asus Crosshair main board & upgraded to the X2 6000+ i got the same message. Wat u need to do is to go to the mb manufacture website & download the latest bios to solve it.
