I have a list of things i don't like about vista

well i don't know if it is my copy but once i received an update and all of my devices started
to malfunction my drivers were loaded and the sysytem was telling me that it has found new hardware

My system slows down almost to a halt on some occasions

I don't know if it is my video card but every time i boot my system the screen flickers until i can see my desktop

and those are just some of my problems

so you know what i did loaded my good ol XP and all my problems went away

It is because of the driver. What he should do is go to the site and get the drivers from his manufacturer instead of sticking to Windows updates.

hey guys. its been a while since this thread was last touched, but i am curious to know what difference 2 months has made to the Vista behaviour. just upgraded my laptop and the new one comes with Vista home premium.
    specs are
    Toshiba Satellite A215-S5822
    AMD Turion 64X2 Mobile 2.00ghz
    2gb Ram
    200gb HDD
    etc etc

so, as usual i decide to let Vista show me whether or not it's gonna play nice on my system. so far, i have no complaints really. it does the download updates constantly thing and at one time it restarted itself and had me dawdling for a good 20 minutes while it updated itself. after that, well, stuff worked.
it behaves itself fairly well, and clearly there are some improvements.
i managed to copy a full dvd to my hard drive 4.2gb in 10 minutes.
the battery and power management seem fair, giving me about 4 hours on power saver mode (still testing)
the networking works, it picks up wireless and wired connections, identifies them properly and if it doesn't connect, there is a valid reason.
the webcam which seemed to be working fine before now seems to only work with skype. attempts to use it with anything else gives a "this device is being used by another program" error which is only an annoyance at the moment.
i have yet to test the burning capabilities.
the sound is managed very well, coming thru loud and clear in Dolby.
the graphics sparkle and all of the various Vista glitz and bling is managed with no visible slowdown or breakdown.

so my question is, how are people finding vista now? i am testing it as i said, and it seems workable, but the media centre cd is on lock for the moment this thing starts to hype itself, but lets hear some updated input on the vista issue please?

Bwoy the vista thing still not working for me man. The other day i installed deamon tools on it so i could run a game and the system immediately crashed. I had to restore it. It still not ready. Sp1 equals potential death for your system and your productivity
