What introduction or explanation is needed? Isn't it clear what the intent of the post was? He asked to see what skills the members had.

he didn't even give his own information to start things off (like you did). Most people just ignored the post, and few people made fun of it. I am pretty sure the reaction would be pretty much the same anywhere in the world.

It's fine if people choose not to respond, but why ridicule? What good comes out of being meanspirited? There are several posters whose posts are a lot more cryptic, incoherrent, and badly thought out than this one.

Actually the intent of the post is not clear. Suppose a stranger comes up to you and says "Hello, what's your name"? Yes, it is clear what the person is asking you for, but the intent behind the question is not clear (unless of course you happen to be a pretty girl, in which case you can be fairly sure what the intent is).

Anyway, my point is that the poster is more likely to get the information he is asking for if he introduced himself or explained why he wanted the information.

By the way just to be clear, I am not defending the ridicule, which I thought was silly, but I was not surprised, after all this is an anonymous forum.
