Please note, that PSU is green, mi no waa nobaddy come talk seh is a laborite ting ... or else is prablem!
What about this one? 500W vs the 430 you propose - I'd rather err on the side of power needed.

That EA500 is a highly rated unit, and much better choice than your originals. See this It's Newegg ratings confirm that.

How do you know how much power you need though? ... I was considering a 520W PSU for a more 'hungry' system than yours, and though I'm still convinced 520W is enough based on calculations, I feel 'spooked' by suggestions that it isn't. I'm actually making a superstitious purchase of an extra 100W.

So tell me Ramesh, what is it that convinces you that you need a 500W PSU for a system that by all accounts would be served by a solid 80+ Bronze 380 PSU?

See this Toms recommendation for my reason

I was considering using this card that I've had more than a year now: Radeon Force3D HD3800. Would the 430W be able to handle it under stress? I don't want to have a PSU I'll need to upgrade down the line and it's only $10 more than the 430W with free shipping.

Did you look at the Tomshardware page I linked to? It showed a system with a 95W CPU, and a 110W GPU, and recommended a 380W PSU.

GO HERE http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine and plug in your system configuration to get an idea of how much power you need. The configuration I linked to on Toms uses more power than your setup does (including your HD3800), and they recommended a 380W PSU. But it's best you buy as much as you can afford. This is an informative guide, but it's a little difficult to make mathematically precise measurements, so I end up being OVERLY cautious.

I haven't read it yet, was about to sleep when I saw your post and left it. I may look at it tonight when i go home or tomorrow and do the calculations as well.
I was just saying that since I don't want to buy the smaller one then have to replace it if not worthy, best to err on the side of caution and spend the $10 more. I will still consider the information in the pages your referred to me.

    Ok, here's what I put:
    1 physical cpu
    High End Desktop
    AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
    No overclock
    2 Sticks DDR3
    AMD RADEON HD 3850 512
    3 SATA HDD
    2 DVD RW
10 USB (considering extreme case here)
    2 80mm fans

Gives me a total of 376W, recommended 426W.

The 430 seems the way to go then!

WOW!! Where'd all that hardware come from? That's a lot of potential USB devices. When I did a rough calculation before it was way lower than 376W. If the PSU calculator recommends 426W, I suggest you get the 500W to prevent the PSU working too hard to produce what you need.

Ok, planning to get an EVGA 560ti Superclocked video card and wondering if my power supply will be compatible with it:

The GeForce GTX 560 Ti SC:

    Power Supply:

Sorry for the bright light, forgot to turn off flash.

Anyways was reading the requirements for the card and they mentioned below that it requires a 500 power supply which I have, but not sure about the voltage part. Anyone able to explain this?

    Requirements specified:

Current Android - OnePlus 7T Pro
PC Specs - Motherboard: Asus PRIME B560-PLUS | Processor: Intel Core i5-11600K (stock) | Memory: 32 gigs Corsair Vengeance DDR4@3200mhz | Video Card: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4070 (OC Edition) | Monitor: ASUS TUF Gaming 27" 2K Monitor | Steam ID -> Powpow

Your 12 volt Amp rating is below the 30Amp recommended... your PSU is rated @ 25Amps

You may be able to run it on that PSU, but I would not think about over clocking...

Ok, this version is already overclocked so does this mean that even though you said this PSU rating is 25 Amps it will still manage the 30 Amps that the card requires?

I don't plan to do any overclocking on this current rig. Just running everything on default settings for now.
