@ Semitop... with specs like that, it looks like your techie life started just yesterday.
Intel 486DX/2 66Mhz on an FIC (or maybe Biostar) mainboard
8MB RAM in SIMMs
40MB Conner IDE hard drive
5.25" floppy
3.5" floppy
no CD-ROM (money ran out)
Trident 1MB VGA graphics (ISA interface)
US Robotics Sportster 14.4Kbps ISA modem
Princeton Graphics 15" CRT
MS Windows95
This was around 1996. Unfortunately in my excitement to build my first computer, I didn't RTFM before I began and grounded/shorted out the motherboard before I even got to use it.
Oldest computer ever used (circa 1987)...
NCR Decision Mate 5, Zilog Z80 processor (less than 4.77Mhz speed)
OS: CP/M ("Windows... you mean the ones you open & close?")
RAM: 64K - upgradable to a whopping 512K
Removable storage: Dual 5.25" 1.2MB floppy drives
Hard disk: "You mean those things they have on mainframes?"
Display: Monochrome CRT - Green, 640x480 graphics
Pointing Device: "You mean that thing that comes only with Apple computers?"
Cost: about $2800 US at the time

Reason: New info!
