I gather that you're in Canada. It's my understanding that if you have Canadian citizenship then you can get a 1 year US work permit at the airport once you have a job letter.

i dont know how the system works as yet as i am still learning the ways of the white man land, you seems to understand the system, can you direct me in the right path with your knowledge plz

how do i go about getting the permit etc.

I was told by a Canadian citizen who works and lives in the US that all he does is fly back to Canada once a year and upon returning to the US he applies for a 1 year work permit based on a job letter he has. This suggests that you need firstly to be Canadian (not sure if PR status will also work) and secondly a job letter/offer from a US company. Interestingly, the company is his own, so that may also affect the process.

try NYPD they take anyone especially if you have military training on your resume.

Being a police in racist America is a no no sir......dem wouldda bound to put me out of the force. Plus I can't do dem vigorous tings deh like one time.

For those wanting to work in US..jobs dem fraid to hire illegal aliens here and the immigrantion system get sooo strick since 9/11 that sometimes to work without a work permit is tough. So a better you try get one a dem farmers work or the restaurant work program to come up on and work you way in than to go about it illegally causealot of employers here not hiring no PR or anyone for that matter without a work permit..UNLESS you definately know someone and dem put een a word for ya.
