I hate stupid threads like these. Only Crosswire (post #9), and SgtMac2 (post #16) actually have something sensible to comment pertaining to the title of this thread.
Just like Linux, Vista is not for everybody. I'm sure M$ had already anticipated this. No one forced you to upgrade in the first place. 3 of the problems you listed above, have been solved by Windows updates. I'm sure M$, will never create a service pack 2 for this purpose (plausible deniability). I'll admit that there is a steep learning curve required for using Vista, but just like all new operating systems there will always be bugs.

Lets not shoot down an OS, when it fails to meet your expectations.

Windows media Center is like wht it said. For entertainment mostly.

Vista uses too much resources. Microsoft need to look to Mac to see how to create a software that uses minimum resources. Vista looks good though n has potential.

So what are we supposed to do? We must voice constructive criticism. This adds to making the product a better product...

Vista sucks big time, one of the problems i experienced with the OS is editing renaming and saving an existing file to the same location as the original. It's just not working, i have to save it in another location then relocating it to the required folder. I also experience problems deleting or moving files. I created a text file, didn't open it or anything, then try to move it to another folder and it refused to move, in fact it refuses to even be deleted.

I do not agree with these two statements, firstly, the laptop manufacturers are forcing people to upgrade, they're doing so by not giving a choice for xp on new laptops, and not providing any drivers/support for xp.

People have all the right to criticize an operating system that they paid their hard earned cash for. Right now, mi nice wid mi xp installation, and until mi start hear people seh vista smooth, mi naw upgrade.

Actually they have been offering XP as an option for some time now.

The sad part is that M$ is a seasoned company, and the leader in OS creation, however, Vista seemed to have been a 'first time trial' kinda thing. Too many persons are having problems, and for the cost of the OS, and the hardware it requires, it's just not worth it. A previous poster said that there is a steep learning curve for vista.....oh pleeze!! Vista has some new and cool features, but it's not designed for the 'masters', it's just filled with bugz. The poster also said that we aren't being forced to upgrade.....please come back to earth!!! I'm sure others have addressed this already so I won't even bother.

I can't afford to spend so much money for M$ (who has too much of it) to make crappy OSs and deny me the convenience of choice.
Isn't it a marvelous thing? The mystery of the mind?

posting on random forums and just cusing about how much you hate it not going to make the product better. MS programmers not a stupid as some of you may think, they are well aware of how much resources vista uses, thats why they clearly state there system requirements. And Im sure when winXP released ALOT of drivers/hardware and software didnt work, but look at it now?!?!?

forcing you?? which manufacture that? just dont deal with that manufacture then cause to my knowledge the big boys like DELL, IBM, HP still offer winxp installs. And even the computers that come with vista all have winxp drivers, it would be foolish on the manufactures part to discontinue drivers for windows xp. even today i still see hardware shipped with win98 drivers adn instructions.

personally i dont like vista, but this is due to its current state, not enough support for various apps and hardware, and yes even the amount of resources it uses. I do 3d animation so i cant spare that much RAM for the OS. I may go to vista in teh future. This was the same transition i went though for windows 2000 pro. Same way i was going on "boy windows too unstable...no drivers .... resource hog"...but now...winxo all the way.

In closing, no one forcing you to use vista, it has its flaws EVERY OS does. Work with what you like.
