I give technical support for the most popular payroll package in jamaica and I charge $4500 per hour. Which i think is reasonable since the company that sells the payroll charges $6000 per hour + tax + travelling.

i've never charged on a hourly basis but i might consider it and see how it goes. some customers u might have to have a flat rate. i always try to price so that the customer is comfortable but there are some persons that no matter how resonable u price they are going to ball the price down. i usually charge 2500 for a os reload or upgrade and 1500 for office and antivirus.

lol you remind me of a few "Techs" i knew in JA, there idea of troubleshooting was to reboot, reformat or buy a new system. The funny thing was in all instances the solution would make you feel shame/sorry for them.

After see your prices, its really hard for me to give mine, as i said havent bin in JA for a while so i dont know how the market is for this anymore.

Does anyone find that people are willing to pay more for IT services under the name of a company than a freelancer, even if the person is known for high quality work?
