The iPhone has not even been released to the public and already it's getting a facelift. Apple said that when it iPhone ships June 29, its battery will deliver eight hours of talk time, up from the five hours Apple said it would have in January. Apple also said that the entire top surface of the device, including the 3.5 inch display, has been upgraded from plastic to optical-quality glass to resist scratches and to improve clarity. According to Apple research, four other recently released multifunction devices all have plastic screens: Nokia's N95, Samsung's BlackJack, RIM's BlackBerry Curve 8300, and the Palm Treo 750. "With eight hours of talk time and 24 hours of audio playback, iPhone's battery life is longer than any other smart phone and even longer than most MP3 players," Apple CEO Steve Jobs said in a release.
