    Default Web Filtering

I have one last lap to complete a job on some computers.

What would you recommend, for me to set up on each computers, to avoid children viewing web site that they should not be viewing?

Heard from someone about using Windows Live's Family Safety....which does not seems like the best way out. No matter what I did, the site still load.

It would be a waste of time typing some web site in the tools area of Internet Explorer or Mozilla, when there are millions of others.

Like Zone Alarm for example...it blocked out porno site, no matter what site I visit..."back in the day". Now I need something that is good.

The best approach I can think of now is to only allow site that should be viewed, rather that trying to block sites.

I downloaded Net Nanny...works better. I can set the level to block most sites...to all. Best so far.

u can use opendns...i use it to filter sites at my work place, blocking out porn sites, videosharing sites, and others. all u do is create an account and wen u setting it up u select the categories of content that u want to block. once u do that u set ur machines to point to opendns server dns servers. in my case i only had to change one machine which is the linux box i have running as the gateway. i configure server 2003 which issues ip and dns resolution, to forward all out bout dns request to the gateway.

if u want to block a site that isnt under any category u can block it manually and also submit it to be blocked and add to a category. once enough ppl agree with u then it is added to a category

    Some other suggestions here.

OpenDNS is good. If you are using a an internet connection with dynamically allocated IP address you would need to incorporate a dynamic DNS service in your setup so that you can consistently access the OpenDNS web filter service.
