    Question Windows Authentication

i am trying to implement windows authentication on one of my websites on my IIS but when ever i try to browse to the website a messagebox pops up asking me for my user name and password. but i thought that the authentication would be done in the background automatically without me being prompt to enter my username and password.

    What am i doing wrong?

    Default

ok guys its working now, here is what happened

    Background
prior whether i used the ipaddress or computername i was still getting the username and password dialog box prompt in order to get access to the site. even from my computer

i got my legal copy of windows xp finally and i did all of my critical updates and software updates.
and now when i use the computer name instead of the ipaddress it works fine. so i guess my solutioin was do a full system update i guess
